Dear Diary,
Monday. Today we had breakfast and our normal routine at the pastor's house. Then we all piled into the van and headed to the church. On the way we stopped at a store and the pastor told me I'm to come with him and buy whatever painting supplies we need.
His daughter had told us the day before that we would be painting pictures on the classroom walls so I knew what colors we would need and got to choose paint brushes, paint, etc. Once we had gotten the supplies we needed we went the rest of the way to the church.
Since we've been take turns being the leader of the day I don't have to make all the little decisions like who is in charge of doing what. We started out some of us drawing, others cleaning up some stuff, etc. and then everyone ended up in the class room painting. It was a lot of fun painting pictures on a wall. Kinda like something the child in you wants to do and you finally have permission to just draw on the wall.
Some of the girls also scraped the outside walls of the church getting ready for painting tomorrow and then towards the end of the day the pastor brought us paint and we mixed it and laid out plastic and brushes in preparation for tomorrow.
After everything was cleaned up we went back to the pastor's house for a bit before heading to one of the pastor's daughter's place for supper. (All of the pastor's three daughters know at least a little bit of English) We had an Italian themed supper with pizza and olives, Italian music and a dancing lesson from the pastor's wife and sister. :)
We had debriefing there and then said goodnight and we who stay at the pastor's walked home.
