Red, yellow, black, white,
All precious in His sight
Hands outstretched
Fingers lifted
So incredibly gifted
Searching for a hand that’s strong
Guiding someone else along
Picking up a tool or toy
Wiping tears of grief or joy
Doing daily menial tasks
Hiding faces, just like masks
Working hard with all their might
Tucked in pockets out of sight
Dirty fingers worn and bare
Nice gloved fingers with no cares
Fingers plump or smooth and small
Fingers wrinkled, aged, and frail
Heavenly Father May our hands
always be to thee outstretched
May we seek you, Lord, more fully
Knowing that by thee we’re blessed
Lead us gently on, oh Father,
Shelter us beneath thy hand
Keep us safely on our journey
Until we before thee stand.
