The face
‘Twas hid behind a veil of hurt and grief
Looking and longing for some sweet relief.
Had left
It’s home that place of pain and fear
In search of something easier.
And now
So far from friends and family
No food, no job, and no money
No hope,
And sickness pounding at the door
Despair comes in, strikes to the core

O God,
You see the many, who today,
Are nameless, hurt, hidden away.
You know
The plans you have for them
The doubt, despair they feel within.
Give us
The courage, Lord, to care
For hurting people everywhere.
Help us
To see in faces closed
Your face, oh God, in all of those.

Whether it feels as if we are the faceless, nameless ones who no one knows or we have heard or know of those in situations that seem hopeless, may we rest in the goodness of God and knowing that He knows us.

I’m so thankful for a God who sees & knows us. Thanks for writing this.
